Comprised of two private foundations that share a common mission and vision, while maintaining separate boards and funding concentration: 1) the Osteopathic Heritage Foundation supports community health and quality of life - primarily in central Ohio - as well as osteopathic medical education and research throughout the nation, and 2) the Osteopathic Heritage Foundation of Nelsonville directs its funding support primarily to improving community health and quality of life in southeastern Ohio. The foundations' focus on health and quality of life is broad and concentrated primarily on mission-related, target priorities, including the following: improving access to oral health care; reducing the prevalence of overweight/obesity in central Ohio; resolving healthcare workforce shortages; enhancing access to healthcare services; enhancing osteopathic medical education; and medical research.
